- mixed berries (we used strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries)
- peanut butter
- Dark Cherry wanu
- Add all ingredients, except the wanu water, to a mason jar (adding the fruit at the bottom + the spinach at the top...it makes it easier to blend when you dump the ingredients into your blender!)
- Store the jars in the freezer, pulling them out about 5-15 minutes before blending to allow some time to thaw
- Pour into your blender, add some Dark Cherry wanu + blend until smooth
Tip: don't worry about measurements - just pull out some mason jars and a cutting board, and throw the ingredients in! Just don't go overboard on the less exciting ingredients (like carrots + spinach), to make sure it still tastes like a "treat" for your kiddos.
Did you know that fiber is actually the biggest shortfall in most American's diet? The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommends women get 25 to 35 grams of fiber in their diet daily, and men, 38 grams, yet most adults in the U.S. get less than half of the recommended amount with only 9 to 11 grams of fiber per day. The American Heart Association recommends that children ages 1-3 get at least 19 grams of fiber a day, and children ages 4-8 get 25 grams, but most children's diet don't provide nearly enough of what they need. This is due to our over-reliance on refined + processed foods that have been stripped of fiber.
When paired with good hydration, fiber keeps your digestive tract moving along as it should. This prevents, and can even treat, constipation so you don’t find yourself up in the middle of the night with a toddler who is in pain and unable to go (we know - not the cutest topic, but very common!)
wanu offers the perfect solution for increasing your water + fiber intake with 24% of your daily fiber in one bottle! Try adding it to your favorite smoothie for extra flavor + nutrients and let us know what you think.
